What if The Force was with us 4500 years ago?

There was a viral early AI image of a combination of Darth Vader’s mask and that of King Tutankhamun’s gold mask, and I thought it would be perfect for PCB art.

I naturally chose real gold plating for the exposed copper, and 0402 leds. The microcontroller is an ATtiny24a.

I wrote messages on the back in Aurebesh and ancient egyptian hieroglyphics.

The leds animate when the badge is tapped or agitated.

I put most of the components on the front as it’s reminiscent of all of the doodads Darth Vader has on the front of his suit.
