This was an experiment in a micro-badge, with some compelling art of an old book plate of a medusa (gorgon) head.

She actually has wings – gorgons were often classically depicted as having wings sprouting out of their heads.

I wanted to experiment with how small and simple you could make a badge that still looked compelling and did something interesting.

I designed the front to be bare FR4 free of soldermask except for the inset image creating a three-color design (which worked with when the board manufacturers weren’t confused by the spec).
